Services and Pricing

CRAFTSMANSHIP FIRST. STRAIGHTFORWARD PRICING.

Goose Creek Rods is a small, owner-operated craftsman’s shop specializing in fishing rod repair and refurbishing, custom rod building, and vintage rod and reel restoration.

Every project is handled individually. Some repairs are straightforward enough for standard pricing, while more involved work must be evaluated before an accurate price can be determined.

If a repair doesn’t make economic sense, we’ll tell you. If we accept the job, our goal is to do it properly—not simply get it out the door.

All projects are accepted by appointment.

CUSTOM FISHING RODS

A Goose Creek custom rod is built around the angler—not an assembly line.

We build custom rods for freshwater, carp, inshore and surf fishing, with each project designed around its intended species, techniques, reel, fishing conditions and the preferences of the person who will actually use it.

Custom Rod Building

Custom freshwater and saltwater rod builds start at $175 labor plus components.

Final cost depends on the blank, guides, reel seat, grips, decorative work and other components selected for the build. Specialty and highly detailed builds are quoted individually.

Before components are ordered, we’ll discuss the project and establish the specifications and expected cost of the build.

VINTAGE ROD & REEL RESTORATION

Some fishing equipment deserves more than a repair.

GCR restores selected vintage rods and reels with an emphasis on preserving their character, history and craftsmanship. Projects may range from careful mechanical or cosmetic restoration to extensive rebuilding of treasured family equipment.

Because every vintage piece is different, restoration projects are evaluated and quoted individually.

Vintage restoration projects require payment in full before work begins.

Replacement parts for older equipment can be difficult or impossible to obtain. When appropriate, repair, adaptation or fabrication may be considered and quoted according to the additional labor involved.

A NOTE ABOUT REEL SERVICE

Goose Creek Rods no longer provides routine reel cleaning, maintenance, troubleshooting or general reel repair.

Our shop is now focused primarily on fishing rod repair and refurbishing, custom rod building, and vintage restoration work.

Selected vintage or collectible reels may still be considered when they are part of an appropriate restoration project. Acceptance is by evaluation only.

BEFORE BRINGING YOUR PROJECT

Goose Creek Rods operates by appointment so every customer and project can receive proper attention.

Service labor is due at check-in. Parts, materials and other applicable charges are handled according to the current GCR payment policy. Vintage restoration projects are paid in full before work begins.

Work is handled in the order received. Because every project is different—and parts availability can vary—we do not promise specific turnaround dates.
