Custom Fishing Rods — Built by Hand, Designed for a Lifetime
At Goose Creek Rods, we believe a fishing rod should be more than just gear — it should be an extension of you, your style, and the water you fish. Every custom rod we build is handcrafted with care, built from quality materials, and shaped by generations-old traditions of craftsmanship.
Off-the-shelf rods have their place, but nothing compares to a rod designed and assembled by someone who cares about the details — from grip to guide placement to balance on the cast. Our custom rods are tools meant to be fished hard, treasured, and handed down.

BUILT FROM THE BLANK UP
The right components. The right placement. Built around the way you fish.
A custom rod is more than a collection of premium components. The blank, guides, reel seat, grips and layout all need to work together as a complete fishing tool.
At Goose Creek Rods, each build begins with its intended purpose—what you’re fishing for, how you’re fishing, the reel you’ll use and what you expect the rod to do. From there, components and layout are selected to complement the blank and the angler.
GUIDE LAYOUT & STATIC TESTING
Guide size, style, spacing and placement are selected for the individual blank and its intended use. Static testing helps determine how the blank carries load so the finished layout works with the rod rather than against it.
GRIPS & HANDLE CONFIGURATION
Cork, EVA, shrink tube and other grip materials can be configured around comfort, durability, balance and the way the rod will actually be fished.
THREADWORK & FINISH
From clean traditional wraps to decorative accents and personalized colors, threadwork is carefully applied and protected with a durable finish designed for years of fishing.
BALANCE & COMPONENT SELECTION
Guides, reel seats, grips and other components are chosen as part of the complete build—not simply from a parts list. Weight, durability, performance and balance all matter.
Designed for You — Not The Assembly Line
A factory rod has to be designed for thousands of anglers. A Goose Creek custom rod only has to be designed for one—you.
Your build can be tailored around the species you pursue, the techniques you use, the reel you plan to fish, and the feel you prefer in your hands. Length, power, action, handle configuration, guide layout and component choices can all be considered as part of the finished rod.
And performance doesn’t mean sacrificing personality. Thread colors, decorative accents, grip styles, personalized lettering and other finishing details can make your rod as individual as the angler carrying it.
The goal isn’t simply to build something different. It’s to build a fishing rod that makes sense for the way you fish.
Built to Last — Heirlooms in the Making
A Goose Creek custom rod is built to be fished—not simply admired. Quality components, careful assembly and durable finishes are chosen with years of use in mind.
Whether you’re working a plastic for bass on a Carolina lake, setting up for carp, chasing redfish and trout inshore, or casting beyond the breakers from a North Carolina beach, your rod is built with old-fashioned pride and attention to detail.
Take care of it, fish it hard, and someday it may have a few stories to tell long after you’ve handed it down.
Warranty
A custom rod should be backed by the same confidence and craftsmanship that went into building it. Goose Creek Rods stands behind every custom rod we build.
Blank Warranty
Each rod blank carries the original manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty terms, coverage periods, replacement fees and eligibility are determined by the blank manufacturer.
If a blank fails under the manufacturer’s warranty:
• GCR will help coordinate the warranty claim with the manufacturer.
• When practical, salvageable components from the original rod can be reused on the replacement blank.
• The replacement rod will be rebuilt with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship as the original.
Manufacturer warranty terms, fees and shipping charges may apply.
LIFETIME GUIDE & TIP LABOR WARRANTY
For the original owner of a Goose Creek custom rod, guide and tip-top replacement labor is covered for life.
If a guide or tip top needs replacement during normal fishing use:
• Labor is free.
• You pay only for the replacement guide or tip top and any applicable materials.
• The warranty applies to the original owner and is non-transferable.
This warranty covers normal fishing use. It does not cover damage caused by abuse, accidents, improper storage or transportation, unauthorized repairs, alteration, fire, theft or loss.
We build our rods to be fished. If normal fishing takes its toll on a guide or tip, bring it back and we’ll take care of the workmanship.
