Fishing ROD REPAIR

GOOSE CREEK RODS would never rush through a job just to “push it out” and collect payment. We consider ourselves craftsmen who take great pride in our work and pay strict attention to detail.  Most fishing repair shops focus on volume.  At GOOSE CREEK ROD & REEL, we focus on quality because we take great pride in what we do. As a result, your rod will be returned in better condition and appearance than when you brought it in. Our greatest advertisement is the word of our loyal customers.

Rod repairs are given priority simply due to the short time investment needed to replace a guide or a tip. Most repairs can be turned around in one to two weeks if not sooner.

Rod Repair Services: Tip replacement, handle/grip repair or replacement, butt, and reel seat replacement, rod stripping and refinishing, guide replacement, guide re-wrapping, custom rod painting, and clear coating.

NOTE: We will no longer “splice” a rod back together broken at the top 1/3 of the rod. Any repair will affect the overall action of the rod. It is our suggestion to simply replace the rod. If the rod is broken mid-ways or the bottom 1/3 to 1/2 of the rod, then we will attempt a repair. The decision is based on a physical evaluation of the rod.

We keep the most common guides and tips in stock. Contact us today to schedule an appointment.

Reel Repair and Service

Fishing REEL REPAIR & SERVICE

GOOSE CREEK RODS offers repair and service for all makes and models of saltwater fishing reels. We do not service freshwater reels at this time.

We may be five dollars or so higher than the next guy, but that is due to the fact that every reel is taken all the way down to the frame. A minimum of two to three hours are spent on every reel. Every reel is throughly cleaned by hand. All parts are then placed into an ultrasonic cleaner to remove all remaining grease and oils. Parts are removed, rinsed off and reassembled using only high quality oils and lubricants.

Bearing covers are removed, bearings are throughly flushed out with a degreaser and then placed in an ultrasonic cleaner and recycled until they spin freely. If top performance cannot be achieved, bearings are replaced.

Drag washers are removed, scrubbed and cleaned with degreaser, dried and reinstalled. In some cases, a very small amount of drag grease is applied. If top drag pressure cannot be achieved, they are replaced with new carbon fiber drag washers.

The entire process takes approximately 2.5 – 3 hours per reel on average. Some reels take longer. We do not rush through the process just to get the job done. Each reel is treated as if it were our own and great care and attention to detail is adhered to on every reel.
