Rod Repair and Select Reel Service

Rod Repair & Select Reel Service

At Goose Creek Rods, reel and rod repair isn’t a production line — it’s a craft. From the coastal flats of the North Carolina Atlantic to the quiet streams and deep lakes inland, we know what it takes for your gear to perform when it matters most. Every reel and rod that comes through our door is treated with the same care and concern as if it were one of our own treasured pieces.
Reel Repair and Service

Fishing Rod Repair & Select Reel Service

At Goose Creek Rods, we provide careful, professional fishing-rod repair, custom rod work, and vintage restoration services from our shop in Indian Trail, North Carolina.

Our primary repair focus is fishing rods: replacing damaged guides and tip tops, repairing handles and reel seats, rewrapping guides, refinishing older rods, and helping anglers keep a good rod in service for years to come.

We also offer limited reel service for selected saltwater, vintage, collectible, and higher-quality reels. Reel work is accepted by appointment and evaluation only.

We are not a high-volume repair shop. Every job is evaluated individually, and we accept only the work we can complete properly without rushing.

Please contact us before bringing in any rod or reel.

PLEASE READ: What To Expect

Fishing Rod Repair

A broken guide or damaged tip does not always mean a rod needs to be replaced. In many cases, a quality repair can put a favorite rod back in service quickly and at a reasonable cost.

Common rod repairs include:

  • Tip-top replacement

  • Guide replacement and guide rewrapping

  • Single-foot and double-foot guide repairs

  • Handle and grip repair or replacement

  • Butt-cap replacement

  • Reel-seat repair or replacement

  • Thread-wrap repair and matching

  • Rod stripping and refinishing

  • Custom paint and clear-coat work

  • Evaluation of older, vintage, and sentimental rods

We keep many common guides and tip tops in stock. If a special component is needed, we will discuss availability, cost, and expected turnaround before work begins.

Why Handcrafted Matters

Out here, where tides rise and fall, and freshwater flows from mountain creeks to coastal rivers, we believe gear deserves the same respect the fish do. Your tools should feel like an extension of your own hands — not something pushed through a conveyor belt. Our reputation comes from word of mouth, loyalty, and repeat anglers who appreciate attention to detail and old-fashioned workmanship.
